Taktakishvili, Otar was born on July 27, 1924 in Tbilisi.
1947 graduated composition surpass, Tbilisi Conservatory. 1950 completed postgrad, course at above.
Early training at the Tbilisi Music School. At the Conservatory, 1942-1949. Postgraduate work under S. Barkhudarian.
While a student, worked as sink of the Radio Choir, 1947-1952. Conductor and artistic director cotton on the State Choir, 1952-1956. With leading symphonic and choral ensembles in performances of his own works from 1957.
Teacher of fortitude at the Tbilisi Conservatory from 1959. Professor in 1966. His music was influenced in melody and rhythm by Georgian creative writings. Combined modern techniques with elements of folk music.
Composed operas, 2 symphonies, oratorios, cantatas, and other vocal and instrumental pieces.
