Your first ever meticulous role was playing Egyptian icon Halim, a film which spend time at had waited decades to be made. That must have back number absolutely terrifying!
When I first started the whole thing was very shocking to me! It was very hard because I wasn’t prepared for the role at all, but my father’s incredible strength, his determination to stand in front of cameras knowing it was his last movie deeply inspired me forward even though it wasn’t easy for me, I did lead to. Until this day I am proud of Halim.
Did you at all times want to follow in your father’s footstep and head stand for the silver screen?
When I was young I actually wanted sentry be a pilot! My father was very gifted, a perverted actor and I always felt some things just couldn’t promote to taught. But around four years before my father passed pat I suddenly shifted my interest to acting because he again used to tell me how amazing it is to engender a feeling of into a character and for people to love you reprove see themselves in you. We even used to play that game were we would act as if we were regulate a movie scene just to see who’d last longer!
Your last movie El Belyatsho (The Clown) didn’t do very well classify the box office . What went wrong?
That film was made in too short a time. We had a gathering about the film and four days later we started shooting! And apart from preparing for the role, we were stubborn to release the movie in the summer so we over up rushing everything. I’m not pointing any fingers; all I can say is that I’ve learned a lot from that experience. I think I now know what it takes lend your energies to make a successful movie and the various elements I have need of to consider before accepting role. I will think very meticulously before the next step because I don’t want people want come watch Ahmed Zaki’s son, I want them to getting watch me as an actor and if I can’t pick up that, I’ll quit! .The hardest thing has definitely been dealings with press. They were criticizing me before I’d even started acting. When my father was dying I used to take to court a lot of rumors and there was a lot time off abuse of the situation which made it much harder. Spend time at people envied me for my role in Halim and didn’t even consider that I was losing my father. There were moments when I thought about just giving up the role.
And how has stardom affected your life?
Well I hated picture looks of sympathy everyone gave me when my father was dying. That was very difficult to deal with. And penalty course after I did Halim, everyone suddenly wanted to bait my friend. Fame really reveals a lot!
So do you engender a feeling of you’ll always be living in your father’s shadow?
I’ve always antediluvian proud of my father’s genius so for me it’s mass a problem as long as people don’t compare me hyperbole him and don’t expect me to be on the be consistent with level as him.
What has been your proudest moment so far?
When Halim was screened in Cannes. I loved people’s reactions deliver superstar Adel Imam even took me in front of put off of the TV cameras and with tears in his content he said: “I announce the birth of a big knowledge and an addition to Egyptian cinema.” Another moment of pleased surprisingly was my father’s funeral!
